MiR 033 Interview With Vika and Katya; Russian Students in America

Today on the Mark in Russia podcast I’m going to interview a student of mine from Chelyabinsk State University, who is leaving at the beginning of January 2012 to study Journalism in Boston. I try to examine why a Russian student would like to study in America and also their hopes and fears about the process. Partway through the interview there is a surprise guest, at least it was certainly a surprise to me.
The two students who I worked with in terms of studying in the US are also going to start a podcast very soon, concerning the cultural differences and adjustments experienced by Russian students in America. When they start their podcast I’ll certainly inform my listeners.
